Revitalised Superyacht Cup Palma Set to Deliver with 29th Edition

There’s a fresh energy pulsing through the Superyacht Cup Palma, and as it prepares to mark its 29th edition this June, the vibe is unmistakably upbeat.

New entries are rolling in, racing classes are stacking up, and the chat in Palma's yachty bars is all about tight matchups, new boats, and the prospect of the most competitive regatta for many editions.

From June 25–28, the Bay of Palma will once again become the playground for some of the most beautifully engineered superyachts in the world. This year, though, there’s a bit of a twist: the new wave of high-performance daysailers will be making their mark.

At the front of that pack? The Baltic 68 Café Racers—four of them, to be exact. Hormar and Pink Gin Verde (below) are the latest to join the lineup, bringing the tally to four of these minimalist, carbon-intensive rockets on the same start line. They’ll line up against their sisterships Ganesha and Open Season, all drawn from the mind of designer Javier Jaudenes, and all set to clash in their own one-design-style class. That’s a first—and one to watch.

Rounding out the scene with a dose of old-school grace are three of the timeless Hoek Truly Classic 128s: Linnear Aurora, Atalante, and Vijonara. Elegant under sail and photogenic from every angle, they’ll also race in their own division, giving purists something to root for amidst all the carbon.

Keep an eye out also for The Aquarius—a 47-metre Perini Navi ketch that’s currently the largest yacht tipped to enter. She brings plenty of power and pedigree. Then there’s Sveam, the Jaudenes-designed Y8 making her first regatta appearance, adding a wildcard to the high-performance bracket.

“We are delighted to see so many fantastic yachts coming to join the party with our new Venue Partner the Club de Mar-Mallorca,” said Kate Branagh, Superyacht Cup Palma Event Director. “Superyacht Cup Palma has always sought to deliver a double-whammy with great racing out on the Bay of Palma and an equally vibrant social scene ashore — we are looking forward to delivering that once again in June.”

Also in the high-octane mix are the 39-metre Tripp-designed Cervo, and two Farr designs: Gelliceaux (main image), making her SYC debut, and the ever-sharp Rose, who’s coming back looking for a third consecutive win.

Onshore, the regatta’s legendary social calendar is firing on all cylinders. The St. Regis Midsummer BBQ remains a centerpiece—hosted once again at the regatta’s Preferred Hotel Partner, the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. The Welcome Cocktail and Captain’s Briefing will kick things off at the SYC Dock on Wednesday, June 25, with the racing getting underway at 13:00 the following day.

As always, the event leans on the support of its Silver Partners, with Vitters Shipyard, Pinmar Yacht Supply, Pendennis Shipyard, RSB Rigging Solutions, Marinepool, Pantaenius, and North Sails all backing the regatta once more.

Speaking for Pinmar, Rupert Savage said: “As one of the premier events in the yachting calendar, [SYC Palma] presents a fantastic opportunity to not only celebrate the spirit of the industry but also to make new connections and rekindle relationships within the fleet.”

With a freshly minted venue, new rivalries brewing, and the kind of competitive spirit only Palma in June can summon, the 2025 Superyacht Cup Palma is shaping up to be the perfect mix.

Can't wait.
